Latin America Post-Show Report
Spring 2006

|
Dear Exhibitors:
We would first like to thank you for your continued
loyal business with International Student Network.
For over ten years it has been our privilege and
pleasure to provide the American Education Expos
around the world to help you and your school find
qualified international students and meet your
recruitment goals.
We appreciate all the effort and energy you put into
the 2006 Spring Latin America Expos. This is our
eleventh series of Expos in Latin America, our most
popular area of business. You kept to the
high expectations set for our presenters, and
represented your school well. All the students,
parents, and school staff from Mexico, Colombia, and
Ecuador were all pleased with your interest in the
area and the enthusiasm you showed for the
prospective students. The school officials all hope
you and your school will be back soon. We also thank
you for the feedback we received during the trip. If
you have any further suggestions or questions about
the trip, do not hesitate to contact an associate at
ISN.

Lima, Peru

May 2, 2006 1,700 Students and Parents Attended
The Expo was one of the best-attended Expos we
have ever held. We know that Lima is a very strong
market with high demand for American universities,
but this year’s response greatly surprised us. We
think it is a testament to your consistent quality you
bring to the Expos. It is your hard work and
professionalism that makes American Education Expos
the success it has become.
We were very impressed how well you handled the
volume of students, which was at times overwhelming
in the first couple hours. Your ability to answer all the
questions and wait for the truly interested and
qualified students, who arrived later in the Expo, is
admirable. The visitors appreciated the information
and your enthusiasm. We saw all the presenters were
busy throughout the evening. We strongly suggest
that you keep in contact with the students that you
met throughout the night, particularly the quality
students who arrived later in the evening.
While
almost all of our visitors expressed interest in
attending an American university, the majority of
candidates for your schools came in the latter half of
the Expo. The representatives conclude the evening
was a great success, and the hard work will hopefully
yield top-notch scholars from Lima to attend the fine
visiting universities.

Santiago, Chile
|
|
May 4, 2006 700 Students and Parents Attended
We started the Expo with a Chilean education briefing
from a well-known local education specialist. This
was extremely informative and engaging, and
everyone was grateful for the talk. The Expo was
filled with interested young people from the region,
with stronger qualifications than most of the
prospective students we met in Lima.
Despite the lower numbers, each presenter was kept
busy throughout the show, answering questions from
well-qualified students who seemed very interested in
attending American universities. Due to the high
quality of the students we met in Santiago, we
strongly suggest that you keep in touch with these
students, as they are very interested in attending
American universities. The night was considered
another great success.

May 5, 2006 450 Students and Parents Attended
After a beautiful drive through the picturesque
countryside, we arrived enthused and energized at
the Expo. The day started with a successful
networking reception with local educators and
guidance counselors. Presenters made excellent
business contacts, which they should maintain to
attract the high-quality students in the area.
Following the afternoon reception was the Expo, held
in the evening. We were happy to host another group
of well-qualified, eager students. There was an even
balance between students applying for undergraduate
and graduate studies. The parents and students were
all very interested in meeting with the university
representatives, and left satisfied with the
informative and personable presentations. The Expo
was a big hit.
This is our fourth successful trip to Bogota. Our
claim was confirmed that Bogota is certainly a great
market for recruiters.

Concepcion, Chile

May 8, 2006 450 Students and Parents Attended
ISN, along with many of the presenting universities,
made its’ first trip to Concepcion. While a beautiful
and vibrant city, it is often overlooked by American
recruiters. It was a treat to visit such a lucrative and
unsaturated market. We started with the Expo, which
attracted another excellent group of well-qualified
prospects interested in studying in America. Like in
Valparaiso, half the students were interested in
undergraduate programs, while the other half asked
about graduate programs. Some students were
interested in the schools’ ESL programs, and from
there asked about the general studies at the
colleges. The night concluded with another quality
networking reception with guidance counselors,
agents, and education specialists.

Buenos Aires, Argentina

May 9, 2006 230 Students and Parents Attended
Our fifth Expo in Argentina was a brief but effective.
We saw a lot of great students in the two hours, and
everyone was kept busy answering questions and
discussing their universities. Everyone seemed to
handle the concentrated time schedule very well.
The prospective students and their parents and the
Director of Icana, Viviana Morghen were also very
happy to meet you all, and for the enthusiasm the
presenters showed. We recommend that everyone
keep in contact with Viviana and the other members
of her staff we met.

As you know, we limit the numbers of universities we
take to Latin America to allow for high-quality expos
and to foster continuing professional relationships
between American universities and international high
school administrators. Please let us know in advance
if you can join us next year for another visit. For
further information please call ISN at 215-246-3432.
Thank you again for making Latin Fall Expo 2006 one
of our best tours ever!
Sincerely,
The ISN Staff
